Hazel, introduced below, has returned to TN to live with the woman who rescued her from the shelter. She needs a family without kids and cats, and a behaviorist to work on her aggressive tendencies. We had several bites and lots of snaps and nips, we made the difficult decision to re-home her. I didn’t realize how stressful the situation was until she was out of the house. We were all sad about it.
In happier news, the same rescue group introduced us to Chloe, a six month old lab mix puppy. Photos and antics soon–
I’m sorry about this situation with Hazel–sounds like she will have an easir time of it in a house without exciting small people. Can’t wait to see Chloe!
Long time no…visit. Glad to catch up on your family. That’s sad about Hazel. She was a beauty. But some dogs are just not suited to children. None of ours are. Hope Chloe works out nicely for you. I think kids should have pets.
The kids are growing like weeds. They are just adorable. Didn’t someone once ask you if they were twins?
I have had a long saga of skin problems in most strange and embarrassing places. I went to doctors and doctors for about a year. No one could figure it out. Cultures, biopsy, showed nothing. Then, our GP did a blood test that showed up positive for Celiac Disease. I have the oddball type in which my stomach/intestine appears not to be affected, but gluten causes me to break out in the classic herpetiforma dermiflora pustules, which are no fun. At one point, before I knew the cause, I had a huge outbreak of the spots in a very uncomfortable and private place. Having finally learned the cause, I now stick to the GF diet pretty well. I certainly pay when I don’t! The thing I miss most is plain old bread. Most of the GF bread is horrid. I have found a couple at Whole Foods that are good, but WF is way off in Austin. I don’t get there often. Of course, eating out is a challenge, but I manage to deal with that. So far, the diet has not been that big a hardship. I just have to accept my limits. No wedding cake for me!
