Showbiz

Today the kids put on a singing and dancing show for me. Lily did a fabulous version of “Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee”, and Dawit sang “Twinkle, Twinkle” in Dawit-ish:

Where’s the video camera when I need it?

A few nights ago, Lily and Dawit wanted to sleep in the same room. Dawit has a toddler bed, not quite big enough for both of them, so I was dragging Lily’s mattress into his room. Yes, I made bacon this morning.

It’s Muddy!

Dawit has created some adorable terms as he learns English. He’s learning most of it from Lily and books. His favorite book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, a story about a mouse and chocolate chip cookie. Now all cookies are Mouse Cookies.

Another book he likes is called Duck is Dirty. One page reads “Uh-oh, it’s muddy!” Now, if he (or anyone) drops something, he’s the first to call out, “It’s muddy!”
